We’ve lost many in Nollywood, Kate Henshaw laments as she remembers Rachel Oniga

Actress Kate Henshaw has lamented the death of her colleagues in the movie industry while remembering her Chief Daddy co-star and onscreen mother Rachel Oniga with a throwback photo.

Fellow actress Funke Akindele reposted a photo of the trio in a scene from Chief Daddy via X formerly known as Twitter on Wednesday.

The picture was uploaded to serve as a meme as the trio were reacting to an incident in the film with funny faces.

Captioning the photo, Funke prayed that Rache Oniga would continue to rest in peace.

“Keep resting in peace Aunty Rachel Oniga. See my partner in crime Aunty Kate,” she captioned the photo.

Kate, who was tagged in the photo, reposted Funke’s tweet and also prayed for the deceased.

Kate added that the industry has lot many entertainers including Rachel.

“May her soul continue to rest in peace. Mehn We have lost so many in our industry kai. Nothing dey this life sha,” Kate wrote.

Rachel was on the set of filmmaker Kunle Afolayan’s production A Naija Christmas when she took ill from what was reported to be complications related to Covid.

She died from her illness and production was temporarily suspended in her honour. The movie was later dedicated to her.

She was buried on August 27, 2021 in Lagos.

Other actors who have passed on in recent years include Gbenga Richards, Leo Mezie, Osmond Gbadebo, Dejo Tufulu, Sam Obiago, Ada Ameh, Chinedu Bernard, Don Brymo and Murphy Afolabi.
