Filmmaker Funke Akindele has called out Air Peace over the treatment of passengers following a delayed flight at London Gatwick Airport.

In a post on X on Friday, she described the situation as unacceptable, saying passengers had been left stranded for hours without proper communication.

She wrote, “Air Peace, this is unacceptable.

“Passengers (including elderly people) have been stranded since 6:30AM at London Gatwick Airport with no proper communication. After hours of delay, we were told there was a bird strike and promised a hotel. Hours later, people are still sitting at baggage claim hungry, exhausted, and without their bags.

“Elderly passengers are struggling. Families are tired. No clear updates. No support. Release passengers’ luggage immediately and provide the hotel you promised. Do something NOW. @flyairpeace”

She also shared a video showing elderly passengers at the airport and followed up with another post.

“Air Peace, what is going on?

“Since 7AM at London Gatwick Airport and it’s almost 4PM no bags, no hotel, no proper updates.Passengers are stranded. People are tired and hungry.

“Release the luggage and take care of your passengers NOW. #AirPeace @flyairpeace.”

Funke’s comments add to recent complaints about the airline’s international operations, particularly on the Lagos to London route, where passengers have reported delays and communication issues.

Reality TV star Tacha also recently called out the airline after missing the wedding of her colleague Cross Okonkwo. She said flight disruptions and poor handling of passengers contributed to her absence at the event, raising concerns about reliability.

Air Peace has yet to publicly respond to the latest complaints as of the time of this report.
