Actor Jim Iyke has described Kate Henshaw as the best actress he has worked with.
He made the remark during a quick fire interview session with BBC Pidgin.
When asked to name the best actress he has worked with, he said, “Now you’re trying to kill me. Yeah, you’re really trying to set me up. Um, Kate Henshaw.”
Jim also said he prefers acting in action films over romantic roles.
Speaking on what he would remove from the Nigerian film industry, he said, “The sabotage. They can’t help themselves. They need therapy, everyone.”
He added that his best movie ever is Casino.
Jim is one of Nollywood’s long standing actors, known for his work in action and drama films since the early 2000s. Over the years, he has shared screen roles with several leading actresses including Kate, Rita Dominic, Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde and Ini Edo, featuring in various film genres including drama, romance and action.
His relationship with Kate has also drawn attention outside film. In 2025, he sparked reactions on social media after posting a birthday message to her that many described as unusual and open to interpretation. The post led to public debate online, with some people defending it as a reflection of a long standing friendship, while others questioned the tone. Jim later addressed the reactions, saying the message was sincere and not romantic in intent, adding that their relationship spans over two decades.
