Ghanaian fans are calling for actress and fashion figure Nana Akua Addo’s standout outfit at the 12th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards to be preserved in the country’s national museum.

The actress drew attention at the awards held in Lagos with a silver gown inspired by the Cologne Cathedral in Germany. The outfit quickly became one of the most discussed looks of the night and sparked reactions across social media.

Designed by fashion designer Mohammed Abbas Ossu, the gown featured cathedral style structures, arches and spires. Reports said the outfit was created in Lagos and styled by NK Style.

Fans praised the creativity behind the design, with some saying the dress should be preserved as part of Ghana’s fashion history.

“Ghana needs to worship @nanaakuaaddo. This dress should be in the museum for every visitor to see. This dress alone is putting Ghana on the map,” Instagram user @com4fort wrote.

Others also reacted to the look. @itohowo.effiong described Nana Akua Addo as “a star,” while @abhena_getty said Ghana and the world should be proud of her creativity.

The outfit also gained attention outside Africa, with several international social media users comparing the AMVCA fashion scene to global red carpet events.

The dress later became the subject of controversy after Paris based fashion house ALmée Couture accused Nana Akua Addo of using a disputed design concept. The actress denied the allegation, saying the original idea came from her and that she had approached the brand before eventually working with another designer.
