14 vehicles recovered from Ajimobi’s former aides – Makinde

Oyo Governor Seyi Makinde

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, says his administration has recovered 14 vehicles allegedly taken away by officials of the Abiola Ajimobi administration.

The chief press secretary to Mr. Makinde, Taiwo Adisa, confirmed this to PUNCH on Thursday.

The recovery followed the expiration of the ultimatum which Makinde gave for the return of the vehicles.

Mr. Adisa said only one was in good condition while 13 others had been vandalised.

According to him, some of the former aides responded by giving addresses of locations where the vehicles were recovered.

He said some were recovered at mechanic workshops while others were recovered through tracking devices.

“Surprisingly, too, one was parked and abandoned at a road near Agodi Government House where security agents were alerted. They went there to tow it to the Government House.

“Thirteen of the recovered vehicles are not working, as they had been vandalised, one way or the other. They completely ran them down for reasons best known to them,” he said.

The spokesman added that investigation was still on to determine the number of vehicles bought in the past year and which are still missing.
