Actress Funke Akindele has explained why she no longer attends church services in person.
The 48-year-old made the disclosure in a viral video shared on her Snapchat page on Sunday, where she was seen preparing breakfast for her children while getting them ready for church.
In the video, Funke said, “I am making breakfast for the kids getting ready for church. Please don’t be annoyed I am not going to church. Anytime I go to church, it’s me they focus on to take pictures of, so I will join online. Cheerful Sunday.”
Her comments have since sparked reactions on social media, with many fans expressing understanding over the challenges celebrities face in public spaces, including places of worship.
Funke is one of Nigeria’s most recognisable film stars, known for projects such as Jenifa’s Diary, Omo Ghetto: The Saga and Behind The Scenes.
