Voting stalled as electoral officials shun Tinubu’s polling unit

Bola Tinubu

Absence of officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at the polling unit of the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has left prospective voters stranded.

Ad hoc staff and members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) had not arrived as at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the unit and different units in the ward.

There are reports that NYSC members and other ad hoc staff have been protesting non-payment of allowances in some parts of the country.

It is unclear if the protest is the reason for the delay of voting at unit 047, ward 3, Ikeja local government area of Lagos where Tinubu usually votes.
