Actress Uche Jombo has reacted to the circulation of alleged photos and videos of the wife of late actor Alexx Ekubo on social media.
The images began trending on Thursday, a day after a service of songs held in honour of the actor.
Reacting on X, Uche appeared to confirm that the woman in the viral posts is indeed Alexx’s wife while criticising bloggers for sharing her identity.
She wrote: “A husband who been through public scrutiny kept his wife private ( to protect her) none of his close friends ever shared her picture, she wore face mask to his service of songs. Yet somehow the privacy message didn’t register to bloggers.
“Woke up today to her videos and pictures all over my TL as breaking news.”
Questions about Alexx’s marital status emerged after his death in May, with many fans unaware that he had reportedly married privately. Several of his close associates, including Grace Makun, wife of fashion designer Yomi Casual, had earlier disclosed that the actor was married.
The speculation was later addressed by Alexx’s family. In a statement released days after his death, the family confirmed that the actor had been married before his death.
Actor Williams Uchemba also confirmed the marriage during a media interview but declined to reveal details about Alexx’s wife, saying his late friend had deliberately kept that aspect of his life private.
Alexx died on May 11, at the age of 40. His family said he died following complications arising from advanced metastatic kidney cancer after a private health battle.
