Singer Teniola Apata, popularly known as Teni, has stirred mixed reactions online following her recent weight loss appearance.
The younger sister of singer Niniola was seen in a music video with Olamide, where she appeared with a noticeably slimmer body while wearing a red dress. The video quickly circulated on social media and sparked discussions among users.
Some users questioned her transformation. One post-humann tweeted, “Sometimes just stay fit, no need to try to lose that weight”
One Benny Wonders wrote, “E better you gym, to lose weight than to take something. Your body go just dey out of proportion”
One Abbey tweeted, “Judging from her looks, she didn’t lose that weight through proper process.”
One Lewis_Shoe added, “They took everything from this girl. You see she’s battling with low self-esteem. When she also knelt when Olamide did.”
Others defended her change in appearance. One Logikbet wrote, “People bullied her for her size tho”
One ytg_olowo wrote, “Lol, losing weight is not only based on appearance, but it might also be health-related”
One princess_starr wrote, “Her weight loss is the best thing that happened to her. It made her look younger and more beautiful”
Teni’s new look has drawn comparisons with similar reactions that have followed actress Eniola Badmus after her own weight loss transformation, with conversations often centred on speculation about how the changes were achieved.
In 2022, Teni addressed similar rumours about her body transformation, particularly claims that she underwent surgery. She dismissed the reports and said the change was natural.
She had also spoken about her earlier weight, noting that she once weighed about 260 pounds due to her eating habits, and later decided to make lifestyle changes after becoming concerned about health risks linked to excessive weight gain.
In a candid interview, the ‘Billionaire’ singer explained that her weight loss came from personal effort and discipline, stating that it was achieved through determination rather than surgery.
Teni, who is known for songs such as ‘Case’ and ‘Wait’, remains one of Nigeria’s widely followed performers, and her appearance continues to generate public conversation alongside her music career.
