Singer Niniola has continued to mourn her husband Michael Idika, sharing an emotional message about how much she misses him.
The singer took to her Instagram Story, writing,“Where is Michael? I cannot live without Michael”.
The post is the latest in a series of tributes Niniola has shared since announcing his death in May.
The elder sister of singer Teni broke the news on Instagram, posting photos of herself and Michael from different stages of their relationship. Although she did not disclose the cause of his death, she revealed that God had taken him away after 13 years together.
Following the announcement, Niniola shared videos and memories of her late husband, describing him as someone who brought joy to her life. She said there was never a dull moment with him and expressed gratitude for having met him.
In another emotional tribute, the singer said she still found it difficult to accept his death, describing Michael as her best friend, confidant, business partner and husband. She wrote that she kept expecting him to walk through the door and struggled to imagine life without him.
Michael Idika was the chief executive officer of NaijaReview, a multimedia platform focused on African music and entertainment. His cause of death has not been made public.
Niniola rose to fame after participating in Project Fame West Africa in 2013 and has since established herself as one of Nigeria’s leading Afro house artistes, with hits including ‘Maradona’, ‘Bana’ and ‘Addicted’. Her younger sister Teni is also a successful singer.
