Teni loses 2019 BET new international act award to South African singer

Afro-pop singer, Teni da Entertainer, lost in the 2019 BET best new international act award category to South African singer, Sho Madjozi.

The 26-year-old was nominated for the prestigious award on the back of a stellar 2018 where she gained massive acceptance in the Nigerian music industry.

Teni was nominated alongside Headie One (U.K); Jok’Air (France); Nesly (France); Octavian (U.K.) and winner, Sho Madjozi.

However, Burna Boy won the Best International act award beating out competition from Giggs and South Africa’s AKA.

The 2019 BET took place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Late rapper, Nipsey Hussle, also received a posthumous award in the male hip-hop artiste category.
