Stop posting RIP on my pictures, Toyin Abraham warns TikTokers

Actress Toyin Abraham has warned TikTok users against posting “RIP” messages alongside her photos on social media.

In a video shared online on Tuesday, Toyin expressed anger over the trend, saying she would take action against anyone caught spreading such posts about her.

Toyin, who is married to actor Kolawole Ajeyemi, also prayed against untimely death for herself, her family, fans and critics.

The actress said, “You’re on TikTok doing videos and posting my pictures, and keep putting RIP. If I catch you, cause the whole world is seeing now, and they aren’t saying anything. My husband, children, fans, family, and I wouldn’t die an untimely death. Whoever you are, you wouldn’t die; but go delete that thing and stop. If I catch you, I wouldn’t listen to begs o. It’s not a good thing, you keep using 100 of my pictures”.

False celebrity death rumours have become common on social media in recent years, with several Nigerian entertainers forced to publicly deny such claims.

Earlier this year, actor Yul Edochie reacted to rumours about the death of his father, veteran actor Pete Edochie. Yul described his father as his “man for life” and the “Lion of Africa,” insisting that he was alive and healthy.

Pete Edochie’s eldest son, Leo Edochie, also dismissed the rumours, stating that the veteran actor remained strong and in good health.
