Comedian Seyi Law has come under attention online after a video showed him being restricted by security while trying to greet Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde at a public event.
The moment occurred on Saturday at the wedding ceremony of the daughter of actress Sola Sobowale.
In a clip that has since gone viral, the governor was seen returning to his seat after exchanging pleasantries on stage with gospel singer Yinka Ayefele. As he made his way back, Seyi approached him, apparently to greet him as well.
The video shows that the governor appeared to recognise the comedian. However, security operatives around the governor prevented Seyi from getting close.
The incident has since sparked reactions on social media, with users sharing mixed views about the conduct of the security personnel and the situation.

Governor Makinde, who has been in office since 2019, is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Seyi Law has in recent years publicly expressed support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and has been vocal in backing the party and some of its candidates during elections.
