Nigerian filmmaker, Kemi Adetiba, has released the trailer of her new movie titled King of Boys.
The 38-year-old had exclusively told Qed.ng last year that she was working on a new movie after it was revealed that will not be directing the sequel of The Wedding Party.
King of Boys features stars such as Sola Sobowale, Adesua Etomi, Paul Sambo, Ademola Adedoyin, Sharon Ooja, Akin Lewis, Illbliss, Jide Kosoko and Reminisce who stars as Makanaki in the movie.
The movie is the second movie which Kemi features in. Her first feature movie was in The Wedding Party released in 2016.
In an Instagram post on Friday, Kemi announced that the trailer for the anticipated movie is out.
“KING OF BOYS official trailer finally out now,” she captioned the post.
Kemi’s exclusion from directing The Wedding Party 2 came as a surprise to many because of the plaudits the director received for the manner at which she brought the best out of the many star actors in the first installment.
Contrary to media reports that Adetiba was axed by Mo Abudu, one of the executive producers of the film, a source close to the director told Qed.ng that “it was just time for her to move on”.
Adetiba, whose works have appeared on Channel O, MTV Base, Soundcity, BET and Netflix, started out professionally as a radio presenter with Rhythm 93.7 FM before transiting to television.
She made a name as a music video and television director before landing a film debut with The Wedding Party which opened the City to City spotlight on Lagos at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in September, 2016.
