Media entrepreneur and publisher Dele Momodu has rejected rumours linking him to a vice-presidential ticket with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar ahead of the 2027 elections.

Mr Momodu said on Thursday that he had no plans to seek elective office again and urged supporters to ignore the claim.

In a statement shared on social media, the Ovation magazine publisher described the circulating poster as a distraction.
“When I first received this poster from a friend, I dismissed it as a joke designed to distract us,” he said.

“I will be most grateful if my friends and party members can do me the honour of ignoring this joke.”

He added, “I’m not running for any race again. I’m interested in humbly supporting the coalition of political parties, to work together.”

Momodu said his focus ahead of the 2027 general elections would be supporting opposition cooperation rather than pursuing personal ambition.

He added that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has enough leaders who are qualified to contest for top offices.

“There are more than enough leaders in my party, ADC, more competent than me. I will humbly support any of them when our candidates emerge,” he said.

Dele Momodu also said he would support whoever emerges as the candidate of his party.
