God affirmed me Osun’s goalkeeper against intruders – Adeleke

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has described himself as a “divine goalkeeper” tasked with protecting the state as he seeks re-election in the August 15 governorship election.

In a statement shared on his verified X account on Monday, Governor Adeleke said his confidence was based on what he described as divine affirmation and the record of his administration.

“Today, by the grace of God and the support of the good people of Osun, I have been divinely affirmed as the goalkeeper to man the goalpost of Osun State Government against any potential intruder,” he said.

The governor said his administration had recorded achievements in infrastructure, workers’ welfare, education, healthcare and community development.

According to him, the performance of his government would form part of his campaign as he seeks another term in office.

“As we prepare for the August 15 election, I am ready to visit every town and village to present our achievements and unveil an updated Five Point Agenda for a greater Osun,” he said.

Adeleke also called on opposition parties to focus on issues during the campaign rather than personal attacks.

He said voters should make their decisions based on “facts, performance and truth.”

“With God on our side and the people behind us, victory is assured. Imole continuity is imminent,” he added.

Adeleke was elected governor in 2022 after defeating Adegboyega Oyetola in the governorship election.

The governor has already declared his intention to seek another term in the August poll.
