NURTW chairman denies plot to kill Adeleke’s son B-Red

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke

Acting chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Osun State, Kazeem Oyewale, has denied allegations that he attempted to kill Adebayo Adeleke, popularly known as B-Red, son of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.

Mr Oyewale, also known as Kas Asiri Eniba, denied the allegation during an interview with journalists in Osogbo on Monday.

The denial followed a statement by Osun State commissioner for information Kolapo Alimi alleging that B-Red escaped an assassination attempt in the Oke-Fia area of Osogbo.

Mr Alimi had linked the incident to hoodlums allegedly led by Oyewale.

Reacting to the allegation, Oyewale said the claim against him was false and politically motivated.

He also denied involvement in the destruction of billboards in the state.

Oyewale accused the governor and the commissioner of plotting to arrest him over what he described as untrue allegations.

The NURTW chairman, who is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), called on President Bola Tinubu and the inspector-general of police Olatunji Disu to protect him and his supporters from harassment.

“I want to call the attention of President Bola Tinubu, the IGP and Nigerians. They should come to my aid because the governor and Kolapo Alimi have called for my arrest over untrue allegations,” he said.

Oyewale also alleged that those after him killed his younger brother in November 2022 and had not released the body to the family.

He said he would seek legal redress over the allegations against him.

According to him, the accusations were part of a pattern of events ahead of another election cycle in Osun State.

He also urged his supporters not to panic over the situation.
