Actress Regina Chukwu has reacted to the death of actor and comedian Adeshina Okiki, popularly known as Janmole, recalling their last meeting on a film set.
Recall that news of his death began circulating on Monday night.
The President of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Bolaji Amusan, also known as Mr Latin, confirmed the death in an Instagram post on Monday. He said the actor died from injuries sustained in a road accident.
He prayed for the repose of the late actor and for comfort for his family.
“May the soul of our departed colleague, Adesina Okiki Janmole, who tragically lost his life in an accident, rest in perfect peace,” he wrote.
“May God grant his family, friends, and colleagues the strength and comfort to bear this irreparable loss. He will be greatly missed. Amen.”
Regina later took to her Instagram page on Tuesday to mourn the actor, saying she was shocked by his sudden death and recalling that they had just worked together days earlier.
She wrote, “Janmole haaaa you were just on my set last week 😭😭😭😭 I am heartbroken Who would have thought that was going to be our last encounter 😕 Its a pity you had to go the way you did RIP to a great actor … its well o”
The development comes nearly four years after Adeshina Okiki survived a serious road accident in 2022. He was involved in a crash on the Lagos Ibadan Expressway where the vehicle he was travelling in reportedly caught fire. He later shared a video at the time expressing gratitude for surviving the incident.
