Nigerian pop star, Wizkid, on Tuesday said he would have given out is latest work, Sounds From The Other Side (SFTOS), free to fans.

In an interview with Beats 1, the singer revealed that if not for a friend who changed his mind he might have released the EP for free.

The 27-year-old also opened up in the interview about his projects, inspirations, and stars he looks forward to working with.

Saying that he started singing at the age 10, Wizkid  told his interviewer, “My dad used to play a whole lot of local stuff, like the King Sunny Ade, Ebenezer Obey, Fela.

“My cousin introduced me to Snoop and Master P, which made me become interested in music.

“I started buying tapes, I started going to studios.”

He countered the notion of his dad was an artiste by claiming he was the first in his family.

He said: “he’s not an artist, I am the first artist in my family. He just plays a whole lot of records in the house.”

Released last week, SFTOS features top acts like TY Dolla $ign, Future, Major Lazer and Drake.

The ‘Daddy Yo’ singer, however, hopes to feature the likes of Kanye West, Damian Marley, and Pharrell Williams soon.
