Music executive Don Jazzy says he may take his search for a life partner outside Nigeria, with East Africa now on his mind.
The 43-year-5old Mavin Records founder spoke during a light hearted Instagram exchange with fans after a follower described him as an African treasure.
“Don Jazzy at this point an African treasure. Yes, he belongs to all of us now, not just you Nigerians,” the fan wrote.
Responding, he agreed that he often feels a connection to several African countries, including Ghana, South Africa and Uganda, even though he has never visited Uganda.
“Sometimes, I feel like I’m Ghanaian, sometimes South African. Sometimes I feel like I’m Ugandan, even though I haven’t been to Uganda, and I hear it’s hot there,” he said.
Turning the conversation toward relationships, he added a joking remark about possibly finding a partner outside Nigeria.
He said,“I heard that the babes there are nice. If you are from Uganda and you are a babe, do you girls like me there? Maybe I should come to Uganda since I did not find a wife in Nigeria. Maybe I should go and find a wife in Uganda or Tanzania.”
In 2021, Don Jazzy revealed that he was previously married to Michelle Jackson. They got married when he was 20 years old, and the marriage lasted two years.
He has also said he takes responsibility for the breakup, noting that his focus on music affected the relationship.
In 2024, he explained that he has not remarried because he is focused on self development and personal growth.
Don Jazzy, whose real name is Michael Collins Ajereh, founded Mavin Records in 2012 after the end of Mo Hits Records, which he co founded with Dbanj.
