Wife of Obasanjo’s son denies physical assault claim, accuses husband of infidelity

Olujuwon Obsanjo and wife

Obasanjo’s son, Olujonwo Obasanjo, has been accused by his wife, Tope Adebutu, of infidelity and she denied his claims that she physically assaulted him.

The drama between pair continues to get messy.

Last week, news surfaced that Olujunwo filed claims with the Igbosere Magistrate’s Court in Lagos, accusing his wife of physically assaulting him revealing that she has been threatening his life.

He went further to claim that he had to leave the marriage because he was worried about his safety.

However, Adebutu has denied the claims, and has filed counterclaims, accusing him of cheating on her, saying he has yet to consummate their marriage, that she was lonely at their honeymoon destination for five days, and only realised later that Olujunwo was in a Lagos hotel “in the company of other women”.

She further claimed that Obasanjo’s son was checked into a drug rehabilitation facility from the end of January 2018 to the second week of March, that his mother didn’t know where he was and for that reason, “defamatory publications” were made against her in two national dallies.

Before their marriage, Olajuwon’s mother and wife of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Mrs. Taiwo Obasanjo, filed a suit at an Ikeja High Court, seeking to stop the wedding of her son scheduled for May.

She lost the suit. Mrs. Obasanjo’s objection to the timing of the wedding was based on a prophecy that her son’s wedding should be a quiet event. But despite her objection, the wedding went ahead in her absence.

Mrs. Obasanjo had described the marriage as “devilish” and also made allegations of attempted assassination.
