Uche Montana emotional after winning AMVCA trailblazer award

Actress Uche Montana has won the Trailblazer Award at the 12th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) held at the Eko Hotel and Suites on Saturday.

The Trailblazer category recognises emerging talents who have shown strong potential and impact in the film industry.

In her acceptance speech, an emotional Uche thanked her supporters and fans for standing by her throughout her journey.

“TRAILBLAZER 2026 I’m still trying to find words …Winning the Trailblazer award at AMVCA is such an incredible honour. I’m deeply grateful to everyone who has supported, believed in, and grown with me on this journey. This means everything.”

Uche has steadily gained attention in Nollywood with roles in films and television productions including Hush, The Eve, Banana Island Ghost and Lagos Real Fake Life.

The 12th AMVCA featured 32 categories, including jury decided and audience voted awards, alongside special recognition honours such as the Trailblazer Award.

This year’s ceremony was hosted by comedian Bovi Ugboma and South African actress Nomzamo Mbatha.
