The fight was so easy, Carter Efe says after beating Portable in Lagos boxing bout

Skitmaker and streamer Oderhohwo Efe, better known as Carter Efe, has described his victory over singer Portable at the Chaos in the Ring 4 event in Lagos as easy.

Carter Efe defeated Portable by unanimous decision on Friday night at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, to claim the celebrity boxing title and a N50 million cash prize.

All three judges scored the contest 27-30 in his favour.

Speaking after the fight, Carter Efe said he dominated the bout from the opening round.
“I am feeling like an international world star. My new name is Carter Mayweather. The fight was so easy. First round, I already damaged his face. Second round, he was shaking. Third round, he fainted,” he said.

During the post-fight interview, someone in the crowd compared him to former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, but Carter Efe rejected the comparison. “Who called me Anthony Joshua? My name is Carter Mayweather,” he said.

He also said he hopes to continue boxing outside Nigeria. “I just believed in God. If you believe in God, anything can happen. I want to try this again in an international way. I know we are going to get there one day,” he said.

Asked if he would give Portable a rematch, he said, “I will think about it. Let me go and rest first.”

Businessman Emeka Okonkwo, popularly known as E-Money, also confirmed he would fulfil an earlier promise of N50 million for the winner.
“You know we put our money where our mouth is, and so congratulations Carter on your win. N50 million for you,” he said.

Portable, however, disputed the result after the bout.

Speaking during a live Instagram session, the singer said Carter Efe used his height and reach unfairly. “I was robbed. Carter Efe was not professional enough. He was strangling with his long hands and height. I threw him many punches, why didn’t you people count them? Any blow that I threw to him ought to count even if it meets him on the shoulder or hand,” he said.

Portable also demanded what he described as streaming revenue from the event.
“And to the organisers, I want my stream money amounting to about N200 million. Just give me my money before I cause trouble,” he said.

Despite losing the fight, Portable said the birth of his child on the same night mattered more to him than the belt.

“My wife just gave birth to a bouncing baby boy. I value that more than a belt. You can buy the belt but not my child,” he said.

Portable had entered the fight as reigning celebrity boxing champion after previous wins over actor Charles Okocha and entertainer Speed Darlington. Friday’s result ended that run and handed the title to Carter Efe.
