Filmmaker Judith Audu has begun a nationwide school tour for her film EVI, aimed at engaging students across Nigeria.

The initiative is designed to take the film directly to young audiences in schools while promoting conversations around its central themes.

Audu said the tour is part of efforts to use storytelling as a tool for education and social awareness. She explained that reaching students in their learning environments allows for deeper engagement with the issues raised in the film.

She said, “We are taking E.V.I to schools across the country because we believe young people need to see stories that reflect their realities and inspire change.”

The filmmaker added that the project is not just about screening the film but also about interaction with students. “It is not just about watching a film, it is about having conversations that matter,” she said.

Audu noted that early screenings have received encouraging responses from students.

After four weeks of screenings in cinemas across Nigeria, EVI is now expanding through a campus cinema tour that will bring the film and other titles directly to selected institutions.

The initiative is organised by Campus Cinemas Distribution and will run from May 1 to May 31, 2026. It will feature four films: E.V.I, Keleke, Love and Guilt and Wedding in Nigeria.

The selected schools include the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), University of Nigeria Nsukka and Enugu State University of Science and Technology in Enugu State; Nnamdi Azikiwe University and Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University in Anambra State; Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu Alike in Ebonyi State; and Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education.

The tour will give students the opportunity to watch the films and take part in discussions with organisers and members of the production teams.

E.V.I is a music drama that follows a young star whose career collapses and her struggle to rebuild her life within the music industry.

The film features Uzor Arukwe, Omowumi Dada, among its cast.

Audu, a University of Lagos graduate, has worked in the Nigerian film industry since the mid 2000s and gained wider recognition after producing her first feature film Just Not Married, which premiered in cinemas in May 2016. The film starred Stan Nze, Rotimi Salami and Ijeoma Grace Agu.
