Veteran actor Sunny McDon has received medical support from Abia State Governor Alex Otti as he continues treatment for prostate cancer.
The development was announced on X on Friday by singer J Martins, who serves as the special assistant on tourism and entertainment to the governor.
He wrote, “I am pleased to announce that H.E @alexottiofr has taken over the medical expenses bill for one of abia’s legendary actor Mr Sunny Macdon who has been battling with prostate cancer for some years now.
“The office of the SSA on Entertainment & Tourism appreciate his kind gesture.”
The singer did not disclose the cost of the treatment or provide further details about McDon’s condition.
The intervention comes amid concerns about the welfare of veteran actors facing serious health challenges. Over the years, several Nigerian entertainers have publicly sought support for medical treatment, especially for age related illnesses and cancer.
