Alternative music act, Adekunle Gold, has accused the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), of lying in their statement about a man shot dead by officials of the Customs Service.

The 32-year-old singer expressed his outrage at the press release by the Customs Service in a tweet on Monday.

“The Nigerian Customs really trying to undermine our basic intelligence with that disrespectful press release.

‘My God! WHEN WILL BASTARDS START FACING PUNISHMENTS FOR ACTIONS LIKE THESE? WE SAW THE VIDEO!!!,” he wrote.

A video of officials of the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) shooting a man dead went viral on Sunday.

NCS spokesperson, Joseph Attah, confirmed that the incident occurred on Sunday at the Sagamu Interchange, along Ijebu Ode.

He said that the man who was shot was a friend of the officials not a commuter.

Mr Attah said the incident occurred during an attempt to obstruct the lawful performance of duty by passengers of a commercial bus.
