Senate grills acting IGP over insecurity in closed session

IGP Mohammed Adamu at the Senate

The Senate has engaged acting Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, in a closed session over insecurity across the country.

The upper chamber had last week resolved to summon Adamu over rising insecurity across the county.

Adamu entered the chamber at 11.25am on Tuesday.

After the acting IGP made his way into the chamber, Senate President Bukola Saraki called on the Clerk of the Senate, Nelson Ayewor, to clear the gallery for the session to commence.

Adamu is expected to brief the lawmakers on what has been done so far to tackle insecurity.
