Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has extended heartfelt congratulations to actor Femi Adebayo, following his win at the 11th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), describing it as a “well-earned recognition” and a moment of immense pride for the people of Kwara State.

Saraki, a former governor of Kwara, took to his X account (formerly Twitter)on Tuesday to applaud Adebayo’s performance in the Netflix limited series, Seven Doors, for which he won Best Lead Actor.

The series was one of the biggest winners of the night, securing three awards, including Best Lead Actress for Chioma Chukwuka and Best Score/Music by Tolu Obanro.

“I just read the news that #realfemiadebayo won the AMVCA Best Lead Actor award for his remarkable performance in Seven Doors.

“This is a well-earned recognition and a proud moment for Kwarans everywhere. But more than that, it is a reminder of what’s possible when talent meets opportunity,” Saraki wrote.

He further encouraged Adebayo to continue reaching for greater heights, expressing hope that the actor’s success would inspire young talents across the state and the country.

“May this achievement open even greater stages and inspire a new generation of young Kwarans to dream big, work hard, and tell their own stories to the country, the continent, and the world,” he added.

Adebayo, a lawyer-turned-actor and son of veteran actor Adebayo Salami popularly known as Oga Bello, has long been a prominent figure in Yoruba cinema and has recently gained wider continental acclaim with high-budget productions that merge local storytelling with international appeal.

The 11th AMVCA ceremony, held on Saturday in Lagos, brought together industry leaders, entertainers and digital creators to celebrate excellence in African television and film.

Organised by MultiChoice, the awards continue to serve as a barometer for creative achievement in Nollywood.
