Media personality Roby Ekpo has apologised after public reactions to his emotional interview about the collapse of his marriage to Mayowa Lambe.
Roby had drawn attention after breaking down in tears during a podcast appearance where he spoke about the end of the marriage and his personal experience during the relationship. The interview sparked discussions online, with some sympathising with him while others criticised him for publicly sharing details of a private separation.
In a message shared on his social media page, he apologised to those who were affected by his emotional expression.
“For those whose tears I offended, I am sorry. Pain leaves the body in many forms,” he said.
He added that he is now focusing on healing, personal growth, and his career.
“My heart feels lighter and free… From this point, it’s my work, my career and my undying passion to be good to myself and be softer with myself. I am on a journey. Every other matter is being handled by my lawyers,” he said.
The interview also reignited public discussion around the couple’s separation. Mayowa Lambe had earlier taken legal steps, including issuing a cease and desist notice, accusing Roby of defamation and demanding damages. Roby denied the allegations and also made counter claims, leading to a public dispute between both parties.
