Police didn’t send invitation before declaring me wanted – Primeboy

Singer Ibrahim Owodunni, popularly known as Primeboy, has claimed that the police did not invite him for questioning over Mohbad’s death before declaring him wanted.

He said this on Thursday during an interview with TVC News before turning himself in.

The police declared Primeboy wanted on Wednesday, saying he failed to honour their invitation. They also placed a N1 million bounty for anyone with information that would lead to his arrest.

But the singer, who appeared before the police with his lawyer, said he earlier wanted to go to the authorities but was advised to wait till he was invited.

“That’s a big lie. How will I receive a message from the police and I will refuse them? Before all this ‘wanted’ issue, I wanted to go and explain myself at the station because people started accusing me wrongly. People that I called said I should chill, I should not go anywhere, I should wait for them to invite me,” he said.

Primeboy also explained his relationship with the late 27-year-old, saying that they were childhood friends.

“Mohbad is my childhood friend, he is my friend. All those times of ‘stepmother no care’, I was his stepmother then, I was his dad, I was his friend, I was everything to him because he lived with me then. My mum fed two of us together,” he said.
