Produce Doris Ogala for arraignment, DPP tells police

The Director of Public Prosecutions of the Federation has asked the Nigeria Police Force to ensure that actress Doris Ogala is served with court charges and produced before the Federal High Court in Lagos for her arraignment.

In a letter dated April 7, 2026, the DPP requested the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 2 Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, to secure Ogala’s attendance in court for the case marked FHC/L/220C/2026.

The matter, which involves Chris Okafor, Pastor Chris Okafor, the founder of Grace Nation International Foundation (formerly Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry), is before Justice Akintayo Aluko and was scheduled for arraignment on April 14, 2026. The document noted that Ogala is currently on administrative bail.

According to court documents, the Federal Government filed a four-count charge against her under the Cybercrimes Act.

The charges include allegations that she published nude and intimate photographs of Okafor without his consent, made and circulated claims accusing him of rape, ritual practices and involvement in a death, and shared messages and videos said to be intended to harass and intimidate him.

She is also accused of threatening to continue publishing damaging materials unless she was compensated or provided with a house.

Police sources said officers sought to reach Ogala to serve her with the charge ahead of the arraignment.

“The officers only sought to serve the defendant with the charge and ensure her appearance before the court,” a source said.

Meanwhile, Ogala took to social media on Tuesday to share a video in which she claimed that police officers surrounded her home.

“I have police people in my house; I do not know where they are coming from. I do not know how they entered my house,” she said, visibly crying.

“I have police in my house. They say they are from Lagos. Chris does not want to leave me alone. He has carried me to three courts. Now, he has taken me to more than seven police stations. There is one in zone 2. There is one in Abuja zone 7.

“Chris is the one sending them. They have surrounded my house. If you people do not see me again, you should hold Chris Okafor.”

The rift between Nollywood actress Doris Ogala and Pastor Chris Okafor ignited last year after footage of the cleric’s engagement to his now-wife, Pearl, surfaced online.

Ogala alleged a long-term romantic relationship with the founder of Grace Nation International Foundation dating back to 2017. She claimed to have ended her previous marriage at his urging, subsequently accusing him of betrayal following years of intimacy and repeated promises of marriage.

While Pastor Okafor initially issued a public apology and briefly stepped away from the pulpit, he later rescinded the statement. He claimed the apology had been “misunderstood,” asserting that he “cannot apologise for something he never did.”
