As the burial rites of cultural icon and elder statesman, Adebayo Faleti, starts on Tuesday with a day of tributes and performances, the Oyo State Government has presented a cheque of N5m to his family as donation towards a befitting funeral.

Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Toye Arulogun, said the day of tributes and performances will hold at International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan by 4pm, noting that government’s widow’s mite was part of the measures put in place to celebrate the broadcaster and Yoruba literary icon.

Mr Arulogun stated that the government will provide other necessary logistics as deemed fit towards the burial of the man whose contributions to the exposition and development of Yoruba culture and arts in Oyo and in Nigeria cannot be underestimated.

In his response after the presentation, Ayoola Faleti, on behalf of the family, thanked Governor Abiola Ajimobi and the government for the generous donation and support towards the final journey home of the veteran broadcaster and actor.

He assured that the Faleti family will forever be grateful to the Ajimobi-led administration for this gesture.
