The officers and soldiers were honoured with military rites. Prayers were offered and citations detailing their service were read to their families.

Governor Zulum said the soldiers died in service and that their sacrifice would be remembered.

He said, “They died while carrying out their duties in defence of the country. Their sacrifice will remain in our memory.”

Minister Musa said the soldiers served with commitment.

He said, “These officers and soldiers gave their lives in service to the nation. Their sacrifice is not in vain.”

The Chief of Defence Staff said the armed forces remain committed to ongoing operations.

He said, “We remain committed to the fight against insecurity and to supporting the families of our fallen personnel.”

The Chief of Army Staff said the soldiers’ service would be recorded in the army’s history.
