Olamide opens up on fear before stage performances

Rapper Olamide has said he often feels nervous before going on stage due to unpleasant experiences during live performances.

In an interview with YouTuber Korty EO, Olamide said fans sometimes rush at him while he is performing, which makes him uneasy before shows.

“I get nervous every time I am going on the stage. I have had too many crazy experiences while performing. Someone from nowhere will just come and grab your chain or your hat, you don’t even know what to expect,” he said.

He said the experiences have made him more careful, even after many years in the music industry.

Olamide, whose full name is Olamide Adedeji, became known in 2010 after releasing his breakout single ‘Eni Duro’. His debut album Rapsodi followed in 2011 and helped him gain wider attention in the Nigerian music scene.

He has since built a strong career in Afrobeats and hip hop and runs YBNL Nation, a label that has introduced and supported several artists.
