Olamide officially apologises to The Headies

Olamide

Almost six months after storming the stage to protest the award of Next Rated artiste to Rekaado Banks at The Headies, YBNL front man, Olamide, has officially apologised to organisers of the award.

Qed.ng recalls that an angry Olamide went on stage during the event held at Landmark Events Centre on January 1 to protest that the award was not given to his own artiste, Lil Kesh.

He later went on a social media rant to further attack organisers of the award and Don Jazzy who had made a cheeky remark that if he wanted the car that came with the award he could come get it.

Olamide has now come out in a video to apologise to organisers of the award, HipTV and its founder, Ayo Animashaun, for creating a needless controversy.

A contrite Olamide blamed his busy schedule for not rendering the apology earlier.

“On behalf of YBNL I am here to say sorry to the Headies crew, HipTV crew and Mr Ayo Animashaun. If not for anything else, he has always been supportive from day one,” he said.

Animashaun has since responded to the gesture with the message “Let he who has not sinned cast the first stone.”
