Singer Ayra Starr has announced that her third studio album titled Starr Girl will be released in July.
The 23-year-old made the disclosure during an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, where she spoke about the effort she put into the project.
“My album ‘Starr Girl’ drops in July…I’m so proud of this body of work. I put everything into it, and I can’t wait for the world to hear it,” she said.
The forthcoming project will mark her third studio album, coming after her 2024 release The Year I Turned 21, which debuted at number one on the Nigerian Albums Chart and also entered the Billboard 200.
Ayra, born Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, first gained attention in 2019 after sharing song covers online before signing to Mavin Records under Don Jazzy. Her self titled EP released in 2021 produced the hit single ‘Away,’ helping to establish her in the Afropop scene.
Her debut album 19 & Dangerous followed later in 2021, with songs like ‘Rush’ earning international success and global recognition.
In recent years, Ayra has expanded her reach beyond Nigeria, becoming one of the country’s leading pop exports. She has also earned major international recognition, including wins at the BET Awards and MOBO Awards.
