Oba Elegushi calls mum confidant to celebrate 71st birthday

Lagos monarch, Oba Saheed Elegushi of Ikate Kingdom

Elegushi of Ikateland Oba Saheed Elegushi on Sunday penned a note on Instagram in celebration of his mother.

The monarch said he was thankful to God for keeping his mum in good health for 71 years of her life.

He also described her as his friend and confidant, and thanked her for staying strong at all times.

“I celebrate you today and I thank God for keeping you safe and in sound health this past 71 years. Thank you for being my mother, friend and confidant,” Oba Elegushi wrote.

“Thank you (for) staying strong at all times. May Almghty Allah continue to keep you for us and grant you many more years in good heath. Happy birthday, mum.”

Recently, some bloggers reported that the king’s wife Olori Sekinat Elegushi fell into a coma in Turkey after undergoing a bum enlargement surgery.

A popular London-based blogger even claimed the queen died from the surgery.

Oba Elegushi, however, debunked the reports in a statement released by his spokesperson Temitope Oyefeso on Monday, May 8, describing them as fake news “which only exist in the wicked imagination of the authors.”

The king added that his senior wife, whom he married in 2003, was hale and hearty and going about her responsibilities in the palace.
