National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Nentawe Yilwatda has congratulated Muslims in Nigeria on the celebration of Eid el-Kabir and called for support for the reforms of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Information Strategy Abimbola Tooki, Mr Yilwatda said the festival represents sacrifice, obedience and devotion to God, as shown in the story of Prophet Ibrahim.
He said the lessons of the celebration are relevant to national development and called on citizens to show patience, responsibility and unity in addressing national challenges.
Yilwatda urged Nigerians to promote peaceful coexistence across ethnic and religious lines, saying the Sallah period should strengthen relations among citizens.
He also asked Muslims and other Nigerians to support ongoing government reforms, which he said are aimed at economic growth, infrastructure, security, job creation and long-term development.
According to him, the reforms require sacrifice but are intended to improve economic stability and institutions.
He expressed confidence that Nigeria would become stronger and more competitive under Tinubu’s leadership.
Nentawe Yilwatda also called for prayers for peace, security and national progress and for leaders at all levels.
He wished Muslims in Nigeria and abroad a peaceful Eid el-Kabir celebration.
