Actress Ruth Kadiri has called on President Bola Tinubu to take urgent action over rising insecurity in the country following the killing of a teacher.

In an Instagram post on Wednesday, she expressed concern about what she described as the increasing number of deaths and violent incidents across Nigeria.

She wrote: “This is not propaganda!
This is not your enemies trying to make you look bad.
And even if they were, you can’t leave your house on fire.
Dear President Tinubu, pls do something, or give us the go-ahead to protect our lives and properties.
Too much death everywhere.
Being a Nigerian is not even safe at home anymore.

“Too many innocent lives are paying for sins they know nothing about. @officialasiwajubat”.

Her comments come in the wake of the attack in Oyo State’s Oriire Local Government Area, where armed men reportedly invaded a school community, abducted teachers and pupils, and killed one of the teachers during the incident.

The teacher who was killed has been identified in reports as Michael Oyedokun, a staff member of Community High School in Ahoro-Esinle, Oriire Local Government Area.

The incident has triggered renewed concern over insecurity in parts of the country, especially attacks targeting schools and rural communities.
