Filmmaker Mercy Aigbe has reflected on her career journey as she marks over two decades in the Nigerian film industry.

In a post shared on social media on Thursday, Mercy uploaded a video clip from one of her early films that brought her into the spotlight. She noted that despite spending more than 20 years in Nollywood, she remains focused on growth and purpose.

“This was the moment that introduced me to the world…
Well over 20 years later, I’m still here, still evolving, still walking in purpose, still becoming.
God did it… and He’s still doing it.
Did you watch this movie back then?” she wrote.

Mercy rose to prominence in the mid 2000s, with her breakout role in the Yoruba film Ara released in 2006. The movie helped establish her as a household name in the industry. She also gained recognition from other early films such as Ihamo and Afefe Ife, which further strengthened her presence in the Yoruba film scene.

Over the years, she has built a career that spans acting, film production and entrepreneurship, earning recognition for both mainstream and indigenous language films.
