Actress Linda Ejiofor made history at the 12th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards on Saturday by clinching both Best Lead Actress and Best Supporting Actress.
Linda won Best Lead Actress for her role in the Igbo language drama The Serpent’s Gift. The film also received recognition in the Best Indigenous Language Film category.
Earlier in the ceremony, she picked up the Best Supporting Actress award for her performance in The Herd.
The Best Lead Actress category was sponsored by Onga Nigeria.
Africa Magic described Linda as “the woman who brought the most vibrant flavour to our screens this year,” noting that her performance stood out during the awards season.
Her role in The Serpent’s Gift drew praise for its emotional depth and cultural themes, while her performance in The Herd further highlighted her versatility across lead and supporting roles.
The double win places Linda among the few actors to win multiple acting awards at a single AMVCA ceremony.
The actress first gained wider attention for her role as Bimpe Adekoya in the television series Tinsel. She also won Best Supporting Actress at the 2015 AMVCA for her performance in The Meeting.
This year’s AMVCA nominations saw The Herd and Gingerrr lead the pack, while The Serpent’s Gift also earned nominations in categories including cinematography and art direction.
