Ini Dima-Okojie announces pregnancy after fibroid battle

Ini Dima-Okojie Nollywood actress

Ini Dima-Okojie is expecting her first child after previously speaking publicly about her experience with uterine fibroids.

The Behind The Scenes actress shared the news on Wednesday in a post on Instagram, where she also posted a video showing her pregnancy.

In her message, she wrote:

“There are moments when words feel too small for what God has done. This is one of those moments.

“In quiet ways, in unseen ways, God has been writing a story only He could tell.
A story of grace. Of love. Of perfect timing.
God has been so kind. So faithful. So intentional. And now, my heart is holding a love I have never known before.

“I get to be a mother🥹 What a miracle. What a privilege. What a calling.
‘Before I formed you in the womb I knew you.’ …Jeremiah 1:5
Every day, I am in awe. Every day, I whisper thank you.

“My body is changing, my heart is expanding, and my life will never be the same again.
And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

“Thank You Jesus, for trusting me with this gift.🤎

Ini first revealed her fibroid diagnosis in 2020, explaining that she had undergone a myomectomy that year after being diagnosed in 2017. The surgery was done to remove the non-cancerous growths.

In July 2024, she disclosed that the fibroids had returned about three years after the procedure. She described the news at the time as “very disheartening” and said she was not rushing into another surgery, choosing instead to explore a holistic approach to managing the condition.

She also used her platform to encourage women to undergo regular medical checks and speak more openly about fibroids, which are common among women of reproductive age.

Uterine fibroids are non cancerous growths that develop in or around the uterus. They are common and often symptomless, but in some cases can cause heavy menstrual bleeding, pelvic pain, and other reproductive health issues.
