Bashir El-Rufai, son of former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai, has confirmed that his marriage to his wife Halima Kazaure has ended.
Bashir disclosed this on X during Eid celebrations while responding to users in response to a post about another woman.
He said the woman is now his fiancée and added that he is divorced.
“I divorced my first wife, I have no time for GenZ wahala. The difference is clear. I had no clue Nupe women treat their husbands like emperors. Loving it,” he wrote.
Bashir and Halima, daughter of former Jigawa senator Ibrahim Kazaure, got married on November 21, 2020.
His comments sparked reactions on social media, with users discussing his remarks about marriage and women.
Before the divorce became public, Halima had shared posts that appeared to suggest there were issues in the marriage.
During the public exchange involving media personality Frank Edoho and his estranged wife Sandra, Halima shared a photo of herself listening to Chike’s song ‘If You No Love.’
She captioned the post, “Chike dey for you.”
