Actres Uche Jombo has promised continued support for the wife of actor Alexx Ekubo following his death.
In an Instagram post, Uche said she joined others in visiting the actor’s home where they met with his wife and shared memories about him.
She said the gathering was filled with both tears and laughter as they reflected on Alexx’s personality and the moments they shared with him.
“As we sat around your wife today talking about you, through the tears came heavy laughter, and I looked around and said … this is so Alex! Thank you, brother, for the memories, lessons, conversations and love! Because I know how much of a planner you are and how intentional you are, I can say you did it YOUR WAY!
“Everything else is noise. Our hearts are breaking, but I know you are free from pain and left with a smile. I thank God for your life, for your peace with him in the end. I’m sure you already know we got her! Love you and miss you, Ikuku”, she wrote.
Uche’s message adds to the growing tributes from Nollywood colleagues mourning the actor, whose death was confirmed earlier this week.
According to his family, Alexx died at Evercare Hospital in Lagos after battling advanced metastatic kidney cancer privately. He was 40.
His family described him as a husband, son, brother and friend who faced his illness with strength and faith.
Alexx was known for films such as Weekend Getaway, Omo Ghetto: The Saga and The First Lady. He gained wider attention after emerging first runner up at the 2010 Mr. Nigeria competition before building a successful acting career in Nollywood.
