Ejike Asiegbu pays tribute to Ojukwu nine years after death

Nollywood actor Ejike Asiegbu has paid tribute to Igbo leader Chukwuemeka Ojukwu who died on November 26, 2011.

The 61-year-old shared pictures of Ojukwu, his family and burial in an Instagram post on Thursday.

“FOREVER ON OUR MINDS!!! EXACTLY 9 YEARS AGO, 2011 to be precise general of the people’s army went home to meet his maker!

“I commiserate with his family and friends and as one of those who had the rare privilege of working for him, still savour in his belief for one Nigerian nation where equity, justice, fair play and love for one another irrespective of tribe still remain the bedrock of our survival as a people. rest on Ezeigbo Gburugburu,” the veteran actor wrote.

Ojukwu was a military officer and politician who served as the military governor of the Eastern Region of Nigeria in 1966.

He was also the leader of the breakaway Republic of Biafra from 1967 to 1970.

Ejike is a former president of Actors’ Guild of Nigeria (AGN).

He served as Ojukwu’s personal assistant during the 1994 National Constitutional Conference.
