Dino Melaye clashes with Oshiomhole over Atiku

Dino Melaye

Spokesman of the Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign Organisation Dino Melaye has knocked the former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Adams Oshiomhole over his comments about the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar.

Oshiomhole had on Wednesday, November 30 during an appearance on Channels TV said Atiku was the weakest among the three leading presidential candidates.

Oshiomhole, who is the deputy director-general of the APC presidential campaign council, recalled how Atiku said in Kaduna that northerners do not need a Yoruba or an Igbo candidate.

Oshiomhole said, “When you say don’t vote for a Yoruba man and you say those people who call themselves ethnic nationalities, don’t vote for Yoruba, don’t vote for an Igbo man, the Igbo nation. So because the man is Igbo, he doesn’t matter; the fact of being Igbo makes him unelectable.

“A man who seeks to govern Nigeria has said this publicly on record, how can you trust him? You can’t manage your household, you’re a serial divorcee and you want to preach unity, family unity to me? No!”

Reacting to his comments also during an appearance on Channels TV on Thursday, December 1, Melaye said Oshiomhole was a victim of his tongue.

“Oshiomhole is a victim of his own untamed tongue. I’m surprised Oshiomhole is yet to learn the lessons from what his own unbridled tongue have caused him including the disgraceful, shameful, humiliating and unceremonious exit as national chairman of the APC,” he said.

Melaye added that Oshiomhole was suffering from what he called CGR (chronic genital recklessness).

The former Kogi West Senator also said that Atiku did not mean the northerners should not vote for a Yoruba or Igbo candidate but that there should be no ethnic or religious colouration to politics, noting that the former Vice President began his speech by saying he was pan-Nigerian.

Melaye added, “Everything about Bola Ahmed Tinubu is controversial. Atiku has no controversy or anything around him. Atiku is mentally and physically fit. Nobody has accused Atiku is being a drug baron.”
