87 new coronavirus cases in Nigeria push total to 1,182

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 87 new cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the country.

The agency said on Saturday night on Twitter that of the 87 new cases, 33 were in Lagos, 18 in Borno, 12 in Osun, nine in Katsina, four each in Kano and Ekiti, three each in Edo and Bauchi, and one in Imo.

“As of 11:55 pm 25th April there are 1182 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria,” it said.

A total of 222 patients have successfully recovered and have been discharged while 35 others have died of the disease in the country.

The NCDC further stated: “One case who was confirmed in Lagos State, traveled to Ondo State for treatment.

“Therefore, the number of cases in Lagos is 689 and the number of cases in Ondo is 4.”
