Actor Bucci Franklin has opened up about grief, urging people to appreciate their parents while they are still alive.
Speaking in an interview about the loss of his mother, the actor said losing someone close helped him understand the true meaning of love and pain.
According to him, the grief he feels is proof of the deep love he had for his mother, whom he described as someone who raised him well.
“My mom raised me right. I’ve come to understand that grief is a sign that you really did understand the meaning of love. So, you must lose someone before you know you can love. The most important person in my life… I lost that person. My advice to everybody that has a parent, whether your parent is useless or not, find time, reach out to them. Call them, make them laugh, because a time will come when you will wish you had the opportunity to just play with them again,” he stated.
Bucci has previously spoken about the impact his mother had on his life and career. The actor, known for his roles in films and television productions including Far From Home, To Kill a Monkey and Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story, has built a reputation for playing emotionally driven characters in Nollywood.
