Aguiyi-Ironsi’s daughter buried in Umuahia

Caroline Aguiyi-Ironsi, daughter of the late former Head of State General Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi, has been buried at Umuana village, Ndume Ibeku in Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State.

Caroline, who died at the age of 68, is survived by a daughter Chidera, sisters, brothers, and other close relatives.

Abia State Governor Alex Otti was represented at the funeral on Saturday by his deputy, Ikechukwu Emetu.

Otti described the deceased as a woman of substance with a heart of gold, pure and natural.

He said she was a truly caring woman who touched the lives of so many people with her kindness, warmth, and compassion.

He called on the family to remain strong and look forward to the positive side of life in recognition of the legacy of love and generosity exemplified by the deceased.

Responding on behalf of the family, former minister of defence and son of the late Aguiyi-Ironsi, Thomas Aguiyi-Ironsi thanked Otti for identifying with the family during the trying period and prayed for God’s wisdom and good health to enable him deliver on his ongoing programmes in the state.
