Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, popularly called Patoranking, released his debut album titled God Over Everything (GOE) on Monday.
The album of 16 tracks features artistes like Olamide, Sarkodie, Phyno, Wizkid and KWAM 1.
Here are eight things that prepared the reggae/dancehall singer for the release of his first full body of work.
- Patoranking started his musical career doing underground collaborations with artistes such as X-Project, Konga, Slam and Reggie Rockstone. He signed a record deal with K-Solo’s Igberaga Records in 2010, releasing the single ‘Up in D Club’ under the outfit.
2. The 26-year-old was moulded by Dem Mama Records after collaborating with Timaya on the song ‘Alubarika’.
3. In February 2014, he signed a record deal with Foston Musik and released ‘Girlie O’, a single that put him in the limelight.
4. On 9 February 2015, Patoranking announced via Instagram that he had signed a distribution deal with VP Records.
5. Patoranking won the Next Rated award at Headies 2014.
6. He scored a big hit after releasing My Woman, My Everything featuring Wande Coal in June 2016.
7. He unveiled the tracklist for his album on July 26, 2016.
